where i'm finding myself these days (the birdsong)
I’m finding myself drawn more and more to the birdsong.
I don’t know, hey.
Maybe it’s me recently hitting the ripe old age of 30, holding on for this next solar journey.
Or maybe it’s simply the way — the natural pull of where my soul feels most at peace.
And out of all the places I would come to this sudden, slowly awakened realisation was at @boomfestivalofficial afew weeks ago
I stumbled into the most profoundly unexpected talk by @mac.macartney 🪶
He spoke about ceremony. Making our lives a ceremony instead of just the peak experience moments of sitting with medicine and shamans.
Also, how we always speak of the big names: Jesus, Moses, Mohammad, the Buddha…
…but we forget the land.
The desert.
The mountain.
The river.
The tree.
All these gurus, guides, and gods embraced the places their teachings were born from.
I cried. I MEAN UGLY CRIED.
But the kind that carries both gratitude and grief. Gratitude for the beauty of it all; grief for our beloved land that is abused day in and day out without reverence.
Thank you, @mac.macartney. You gave me the medicine I didn’t know I needed. I can get so tangled in material pursuits and the noise of doing.
But you reminded me of my true North Star.
